Cushing (shoulder) is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery, Alex Del Barrio of CBS Houston reports.

Analysis: Cushing was given days off during OTAs as he's still working his way back from January shoulder surgery. Expect the Texans to continue to be cautious with their starting linebacker until the regular season rolls around.

Goodson (knee - ACL) is ahead of schedule in his recovery, Michael Cohen of the Green Bay Post-Gazette reports.

Analysis: Goodson tore his ACL in gruesome fashion last November but is already back on the field working with a trainer on the sidelines. After it was thought he might not be ready in time for the start of the 2017 season, the Baylor product is now eyeing a return for the middle of training camp.

    • Frazier (foot) is nearing 100 percent...

Frazier (foot) is nearing 100 percent health, Kevin Casas of The Star-Telegram reports. "My foot is 100 percent, but I'm not working in the team drills yet, just a lot of individual stuff as a precaution," Frazier said during June's minicamp.

Analysis: Frazier -- who underwent foot surgery in March to prevent a stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal from becoming something more serious -- expects to be prepared for training camp. After playing in nine regular-season games as a sixth-round rookie in 2016, the Central Michigan product is expected to compete for a starting safety role in the wake of Dallas' decision to part ways with veterans J.J. Wilcox and Barry Church this offseason.

    • The Redskins signed defensive linemen Terrell...

The Redskins signed defensive linemen Terrell McClain and Stacy McGee as well as LB Zach Brown in the offseason.

Analysis: Considering they also spent their first-round pick on DE Jonathan Allen out of Alabama, the Redskins evidently made retooling their defensive front a priority in the offseason, which may have been a wise strategy since Washington allowed the 24th-most rushing yards in the league last year (1,917) -- and one that also lost Chris Baker, who led the defensive line in tackles (47). McClain -- who led the division-rival Cowboys' defensive line in stops last season (40) -- should be an adequate replacement for Baker, while McGee will likely be a solid rotational player behind McClain and Allen. Brown (149 tackles, four sacks in '16), on the other hand, was one of the best free agents on the open market at his position and beefs up a linebacking corps that already features Ryan Kerrigan, Mason Foster and Trent Murphy. With a Josh Norman-led secondary behind them, the Redskins defense looks to be in good shape entering 2017.

    • The Titans signed CB Logan Ryan...

The Titans signed CB Logan Ryan and S Jonathan Cyprien to contracts in the offseason.

Analysis: If they were going to let Jason McCourty walk, the Titans needed to be able to find a replacement. Enter Logan Ryan. In his past two seasons with the Patriots, Ryan racked up 166 tackles and 25 PBUs while proving strong in both pass coverage and in the run game. Along with the Titans' first-rounder, Adoree' Jackson out of USC, Ryan should immediately take over as a starter. Meanwhile, Cyprien will likely pair with Kevin Byard to form the first-string safety tandem. Considering pass defense was arguably Tennessee's greatest weakness last season and this new-look secondary appears to be a significant improvement on paper, the Titans D/ST looks to be in position to build upon its 26th-placed fantasy finish from a season ago.
