Hopkins (hand) did not practice this week and is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's preseason game against the Patriots, Drew Dougherty of the Texans' official site reports.

Analysis: The Texans will be without their top pass catchers Saturday as Hopkins, Will Fuller (collarbone) and Braxton Miller (ankle) nurse injuries. That will open the door for other wideouts, most notably Jaelen Strong. Head coach Bill O'Brien, who hasn't acknowledged that Hopkins is dealing with an injury, continues to say the receiver is fine and should be ready to roll for the regular-season opener against Jacksonville on Sept. 10.

Lewis secured two of four targets for 22 yards in Thursday's 12-8 preseason loss to the Bucs.

Analysis: The veteran tight end is potentially in line for an increased role in the passing game now that Julius Thomas has departed. Lewis saw the third-most targets on the night for the Jaguars, but for all practical purposes, he'll likely be a fourth option at best on the majority of weeks behind Allen Robinson, Allen Hurns and Marqise Lee. Lewis has only played 16 games once in the last four seasons, last topping 25 receptions back in 2012.

    • Robinson brought in five of 10...

Robinson brought in five of 10 targets for 40 yards in Thursday's 12-8 preseason loss to the Bucs.

Analysis: Robinson certainly got plenty of attention from both Blake Bortles and Chad Henne, but only brought in 50 percent of his targets. That represented a disturbingly similar ratio to the sub-par 48.3 percent success rate he tallied in a disappointing 2016, and Bortles' considerable struggles Thursday certainly put a damper on the overall prospects of the Jaguars' air attack. However, with the postgame news that Bortles and Henne are now in an open competition for the starting job, Robinson could potentially benefit from a change behind center. He'll look to improve on Thursday's numbers when the Jaguars face the Panthers next Thursday in the all-important third preseason game.

Ivory rushed seven times for just four yards but brought in both of his targets for 14 yards in Thursday's 12-8 preseason loss to the Bucs.

Analysis: The veteran bruiser drew the start in place of Leonard Fournette (foot) but found running room at a premium against an aggressive Bucs starting front. Ivory was able to have a modest presence in the passing game, however, and still outperformed backfield mate T.J. Yeldon, who suffered a hamstring injury during the contest. Despite the meager rushing production, Ivory seems primed to continue getting a majority of first-team work while Fournette, and now Yeldon, remain sidelined. His next opportunity to state his case will come in next Thursday's exhibition against the Panthers.

    • Jackson (ankle) brought in two of...

Jackson (ankle) brought in two of four targets for 17 yards and added 15 yards on his sole rush in Thursday's 12-8 preseason win over the Jaguars.

Analysis: Jackson looked none the worse for wear despite missing practice time this week with his ankle ailment, even getting one carry on a reverse. The speedster played only a modest role in the air attack, but given that Jameis Winston spread the ball around to eight different pass catchers overall, his limited contributions aren't cause for concern. Jackson is likely slated to get his most extensive time on the field yet when the Bucs face the Browns a week from Saturday in their third preseason game.
